Planning on Your Computer
Plan your trip on a big screen at getcampsavvy.com/trips (Pro). It's the same trip planner as the app β stops, campgrounds, road miles, drive time and fuel β and every trip is saved to your account, so it's on your phone when you leave.
Sign in on your computer
Use the same CampSavvy account as your phone. There are two ways:
- Use my phone (works for every account, including Apple's "Hide My Email"): the page shows an 8-letter code. On your phone, open Settings β Use on a computer, type the code and tap Sign in on my computer. The page signs in by itself.
- Email me a code: type your account email and enter the 6-digit code we send.
Plan the trip
- Pick a trip from the list at the top, or tap + New trip and name it.
- Add stops in the order you'll drive them: type in Add a stop, or search under Find campgrounds. A stop can be a town or ZIP, a full street address (like 123 Main St, Moab, UT), or a place by name β a store, dealer, attraction or landmark (like Camping World Ocala). Names are searched near your last stop.
- Reorder with the β β arrows, or drag a stop onto another. Remove takes one out.
- Use + and β on a stop to set how many nights you'll stay.
The totals show the whole trip's distance, driving time, fuel and nights, and each leg shows its miles, time, gallons and cost β just like the app. Fuel needs your MPG and tank size, which you set in the app under Settings β your rig.
Finding campgrounds along the way
Click Campgrounds on the map, zoom to where you'd like to stay and click Search this area. Or search any town or ZIP under Find campgrounds, or click one of the Near β¦ buttons to search around a stop you already have. Each park says how far it is off your route ("on your route" or "4 mi off route", as the crow flies). Click a park for its website, phone and booking link, then Add to trip β it goes in where it adds the fewest miles, between the right two stops.
Details and Google Maps
- Click a campground's name (or Phone, website & more) to see its phone, website and booking link right in the list.
- Directions under a stop opens Google Maps to it.
- Open in Google Maps (under the totals) opens the whole route with every stop. From Google Maps you can send it to your phone.
Vehicles
Driving picks the vehicle for the trip β your rig or a saved one β and the fuel numbers follow it. Vehiclesβ¦ lists them: edit your rig's name, fuel, MPG, tank, height, length and weight, or add and edit other vehicles. Everything syncs with the phone. (Your rig's type, leveler measurements and generator are set in the app.) Changing a motorhome between gas and diesel updates its maintenance schedule on your phone.
Leave date, weather, fires, grades and land
Everything the phone shows is on the computer too, and syncs both ways:
- Leaving and I drive about β¦ miles a day give each stop its arrival day and forecast. Both are saved on the trip, so the phone uses the same ones.
- Wildfires near the route and steep grades appear as cards under the totals and on the map.
- Use the Public land and Wildfires buttons on the map to show or hide those layers.
- Trip expenses with a budget sit below the stops.
Due before you get back, wind, and sharing
- The maintenance due before you get back and wind cards appear here too, using your phone's service schedule and odometer.
- Share this trip (under the totals) copies a private link to send; Stop sharing turns it off.
How far can you get in a day?
Under the totals, set I drive about β¦ miles a day (it remembers your number). Then tap β β¦ mi from here on any stop:
- A yellow circle shows that many miles in a straight line around the stop.
- A yellow flag marks where that many miles of driving along your route ends. Roads wander, so the flag is usually inside the circle.
- Click the flag, or Find campgrounds near the flag, to see parks where your day ends. Drag the flag to search somewhere else β parks show up around wherever you drop it. One you add goes in where it fits best on the route.
Tap Hide day's drive to clear it.
Getting it on your phone
Changes save on their own β the top of the page says Saved. Open CampSavvy on your phone (signed in to the same account) and go to Trips; the trip is there with its route and totals. Changes you make on the phone show up on the computer too, within about a minute.
